The Challenge
When people think of concrete, they typically envision industrial grey tones. However, the client for this private retreat in Davie, Florida, had a vibrant vision. They wanted to transform their patio into a serene, personalized haven that reflected the tropical atmosphere of the location. The goal was to introduce specific textures and colors that would pop against the landscape, creating a cohesive “Blue Springs” theme that standard terra cotta or stone planters could not match.
The Solution
Printera brought this vision to life by combining our unique 3D textures with custom material engineering. We utilized integral pigments to infuse the concrete with a serene blue hue. Because the color is mixed into the material itself, it offers a depth and durability that painted surfaces cannot achieve—it won’t chip, peel, or fade. The project features our “Bermuda” and “Basket” weave designs. These intricate patterns take advantage of the 3D printing layers to catch light and shadow, giving the hard concrete a soft, woven appearance.
The Outcome
The Blue Springs patio is now a one of a kind outdoor scenery that the client can relish with friends and family.
