The Process

The process of 3D printed concrete with a robotic arm printer begins with the design of a digital blueprint or model of the desired structure. This digital file is then loaded onto the robotic arm printer, which begins the printing process by dispensing layers of concrete in the shape of the design.

The printer works by using extrusion technology, where the concrete mixture is pushed through a nozzle and layered on top of itself until the structure is complete. The robotic arm can move in all three dimensions, allowing for complex designs and building shapes.

Once the printing process is complete, the structure is left to dry and cure for a specified amount of time before it can be used. The advantages of using 3D printing technology in concrete construction include faster production times, a reduction in waste and material costs, and the ability to create bespoke designs that would be difficult or impossible to achieve using traditional construction methods.
