The Challenge
Creating a truly cohesive outdoor living space is difficult when relying on off the shelf furniture. The homeowner envisioned a poolside patio that felt like a seamless extension of their home’s architecture, a contemporary haven where every element spoke the same design language. They wanted to avoid the visual clutter of mixing materials (wood, metal, wicker) and sought a solution that offered the permanence of built in architecture with the comfort of lounge furniture. Furthermore, the furniture needed to withstand the harsh poolside environment; sun, water, and salt. Without the constant maintenance required by traditional outdoor materials.
The Solution
Printera transformed the patio into a unified oasis by designing and printing a complete suite of furniture. Using state of the art 3D printing technology, we crafted chairs, tables, decorative columns, planters, and a full-service outdoor bar. Because we print layer by layer, we are not restricted to rigid, boxy shapes. We focused heavily on ergonomics, designing the chairs with compound curves that contour to the human body, offering unexpected comfort in a rigid material. The outdoor bar and planters were printed with matching textures and profiles, ensuring that the functional entertainment areas blended perfectly with the decorative landscape elements.
